Mathew Lane TiAMO: Your New Multiband Dynamics Solution
A serious multiband compressor with flexible operation.
The Mathew Lane TiAMO is a new multiband compressor plugin with precise dynamic controls for correcting the finer details in your mixes.
In today’s landscape, multiband compression is not quite as fashionable as it once was. Instead of reaching for a multiband dynamics plugin, most of us use a dynamic EQ to target and suppress problem areas in the frequency range. However, can a multiband compressor still be useful?
Mathew Lane TiAMO
The TiAMO is a 3-band compressor with three flexible sidechains that can operate in either independent or linked configurations and in external or internal modes. The compression sound imparted onto the signal is characteristically warm, as it’s based on the analogue-modelling algorithm from the TiCo compressor plugin.
The interface is relatively straightforward, but when you look a little closer at TiAMO it’s interesting to note that each band has a flexible trigger signal mixer. This allows each sidechain to shape each band’s trigger signal either positively or negatively, for a wide range of results. With different trigger configurations, you can mold the compressor’s behaviour for different purposes.
From doing standard 3-band processing to precise de-essing, or even cross-triggering to excite your mix bus. Furthermore, as each band has a wet/dry mix control, you can really focus your processing to achieve balanced and organic-sounding results.

While multiband compression might not be the most exciting to the average bedroom producer, TiAMO should raise the eyebrows of any professional mixing or mastering engineer. Its simple interface with extremely flexible processing capabilities makes it a powerful ally indeed.
