Meet the Boss Gigcaster 5 and 8 streaming mixers for musicians
Introducing the new Boss Gigcaster 5 and 8 desktop streaming mixers. Here’s a complete in-stream audio solution, that also offers you plenty of features for recording and practicing your instrument with the onboard effects.
There is a range of similar products appearing on the market for content creators, but this is one of the first offerings to cater specifically to musicians.
Boss Gigcaster 5 & 8
With the new Boss Gigcaster 5, you have a range of creative and convenient features to up the quality and interactivity of your live streaming output. However, when you integrate it with your DAW, it also functions as a 16×12 USB interface.
This compact 5-channel desktop USB mixer offers 32-bit floating-point audio processing and up to 48 kHz sampling rate. There’s a high-impedance input for electric guitar and bass, plus a high-quality effects and amp modeling engine borrowed from the GT-1000.
In addition, there are two XLR inputs and a stereo line in, so connecting mics and instruments is taken care of. To make things more interesting, there is a range of vocal effects borrowed from the VE vocal processor, including a harmonizer, and a voice transformer.
For in-stream audio processing, you also have a range of preset libraries for working with guitar, bass, vocals, and speech. What’s more, there are dedicated stereo channels for in-stream guests and Bluetooth for adding mobile devices.
The Gigcaster 8 adds more channels, combo inputs, and 8 customizable buttons to give you access to audio playback and real-time effects control. The pads have two modes with eight selectable banks in each.
