Melbourne Instruments Surprises at NAMM 2025 With Innovative Motorised MIDI Controller!
Compact MIDI Controller With Cutting-Edge Features
Melbourne Instruments is once again causing a stir in the music scene: the Australian company, which has already made a name for itself with its innovative Nina and Delia synthesizers, is apparently preparing to unveil a motorised MIDI controller at the NAMM Show 2025. While the company’s synthesizers feature motorised knobs that dynamically adjust to preset values, this new product could make a splash as a DAW controller.
NAMM highlight: Melbourne Instruments MIDI Controllers With Intelligent Technology
With the Nina and Delia synthesizers, Melbourne Instruments has impressively demonstrated how an innovative user interface can simplify sound design and music making. The motorised knobs, which are seamlessly linked to the synthesizers’ modulation matrix and engine settings, offer a unique combination of precision and ease of use. This technology is now the basis for the new MIDI controller design. And that’s exciting!
Rumours and early leaks suggest that the compact controller will feature eight motorised knobs. Highly visible mini-screens and additional controls on the left side of the unit suggest a wide range of control options. The integration of these motorised controllers with DAWs or external devices could provide precise control by automatically adjusting the controllers to the respective parameter values of a selected track.
Motorised MIDI Technology for Your DAW
A video that has appeared on the internet shows the device in action. It is clear that the controls work with high precision, not only visually but also functionally. This concept definitely promises to open up the potential for new workflow possibilities in music production. It is particularly exciting to see how the technology can be seamlessly integrated into existing studio setups. And in real time.
The integration of motorised controls into a MIDI controller opens up interesting possibilities, especially in combination with DAWs. For example, parameters of plugins or virtual mixing consoles could be controlled directly without the need for manual readjustment, speeding up the production process enormously. At the same time, the compact design promises to save valuable studio space.
The product is already the focus of the community, with many eagerly awaiting hands-on demos and full specifications. The combination of motorised controls and intuitive operation could be a real hit for the manufacturer. The name of the new hardware and the price of the package have not yet been announced. We will keep you posted.

Makes perfect sense so long as it’s at least reasonably priced with the global economic turbulence in mind. Most desirable looking MIDI controller since the Touché.
It’s all sorts of brilliant. Their synth have haptic feedback and a lot of clever features…. but it’s VERY expensive (4000€ for a desktop). This one should be pricey too.
