Menura Audio MDMX Modular Mixer: Design your own DJ mixer
Build your own DJ mixer with rotary, linear, 1620 and even Eurorack-connecting modules.
Is the Menura Audio MDMX modular mixer the last DJ mixer that you’ll ever need?
Menura Audio MDMX Modular Mixer
Imagine that you could design your own DJ mixer. Would it be all-analog with rotary pots and 1620-inspired circuitry? Or would you want something more hybrid, with Eurorack connectivity and Bluetooth input? Well, now you can, with the Menura Audio MDMX modular mixer.
“Our aim is to shake up the mixer market a little and provide an opportunity for people to design their own mixer and let it evolve with their preferences,” said Jasper Lauter, CEO of Menura Audio. “This product is the culmination of years of research and development, and we believe it will provide music lovers with new opportunities.”
Menura Audio MDMX: The Choice Is Yours
The idea is that you choose the modules that you need, ensuring that your finished MDMX mixer exactly suits your DJ style. Start with an empty case and then add the modules you want on the Configurator page. You can even buy more modules than can fit into the case at once and swap them out yourself depending on the situation.
It’s a clever idea, one that began as a successful crowdfunding campaign in May 2023. Since then, the team at Menura Audio has made a number of improvements to the MDMX, including a new power supply, new send and return jacks, improved module mounting and much more.
Menura Audio claims the MDMX “features a high-quality analog circuit design that produces pristine sound.” There are a number of modules already available, with more in the works, including filters, mic/instrument inputs, parametric EQ and a crossfader.
