Mesa Boogie debuts the Fillmore 100, a 100-Watt combo or head with matching cab
New 100-watt amp available as combo or head with matching cab
Mesa Boogie has followed up 2018’s Fillmore 50 with a new version, the Fillmore 100. This Mark-based amp is all-valve and has a full spring reverb and multi power outputs available.
Mesa Boogie Fillmore 100
Those classic heavyweight 100-Watt guitar amplifiers aren’t as popular as they once were, due in part to in-ear monitoring and guitar amp modelling. So Mesa Boogie has taken it upon itself to (ahem) rectify this by announcing a new Mesa Boogie 100-Watt amp head, the Fillmore 100.
The new model includes fully independent, footswitchable channels. Each has what Mesa Boogie calls 3 Mode Channel Cloning (just like the 50-watt version from last year). That gives you Clean, Drive and HI available on all channels, so you can set it up according to your tastes and put whatever suits your tone onto each of the three available channels. Each channel has Gain, Treble, Mid, Bass, Presence, Reverb and Master controls.
Manage your power output
The amp has a 4 x 6L6 Pentode, which equates to 98W Clean/112W Max power. You also get some more manageable output modes that include HALF – 2 x 6L6 Pentode – 40W Clean/50W Max and LOW – 2 x 6L6 Triode – 22W Clean/30W Max.
Spring Reverb
There’s also a decent vintage-style, valve-powered, long-tank Spring Reverb onboard, with independent channel controls. You can set up your reverb as desired on each of the three channels
The new Fillmore 100 is available as either a head or as a 1×12 combo loaded with a single 8 Ohm Celestion Custom 90. You can also get matching speaker cabs to go with either setup. Obviously, this amp is for gigging players that need lots of headroom. Not exactly your typical home amp setup, this one…
