Moog introduce Subsequent 37 CV limited edition synth at Moogfest
The Subsequent 37 CV is a limited edition version of the Sub 37 Tribute Edition synthesizer. They are being launched at Moogfest this week (18th-21st May) where the first 125 will be made.
Subsequent 37 CV
I am loving what they did with the name. They are calling it an evolution of the Sub 37 Tribute Edition designed in response to community feedback as well as their own desire to improve on the existing synth. The addition of CV connectivity is probably the most requested feature. And so we have both Eurorack and larger format compatible modular CV connections. There are four CV outputs and two gates now built into the side.
The keyboard has been improved to give it a better feel and they’ve added a high-powered headphone amp. Along with a modified analog signal path, they’ve boosted the headroom in the mixer and extended the range of Multidrive circuit to give it more “grit and growl.” The gain staging of the ladder filter has been reshaped to cope with the added sonic range to boost saturation and compression.
The enclosure has gone through some changes too featuring aluminium ends pieces inlaid with North American hardwood fixed to a steel and aluminium frame.
Moogfest
The Moogfest is definitely the place to be this week for any self-respecting synthesizer enthusiast. I’m still waiting for someone to invite me on an all-expenses-paid trip to the spiritual home of synthesizers. Any takers?
There will only be 2000 Subsequent 37 CV synthesizers made. Guitar Center is taking pre-orders for $1799 (£1472) but doesn’t currently ship to the UK.
