A few years back, Moog released several Sound Studios, each of which included a combination of the Mother-32, DFAM, and/or Subharmonicon synths. In addition to the synths, the sets came with a bunch of accessories, such as a stand, mixer, dust cover, patch cable holder, and more.
One of the best things about the Moog Sound Studios was the included mixer, which not only sums the signals and provides a common headphone output, but also consolidates the power supply for all three synths into a single device. Anything that reduces the number of wall warts in the studio is always welcome! Overall, the Sound Studios were appealing bundles – but what if you’d already bought the synths separately?
If you own three synths from Moog’s 60-HP series (which now also includes the Labyrinth and Spectravox), you might find that the new Sound Studio Accessory Kit is just what you’ve been looking for. This new set gets you all the hardware accessories that came with the Sound Studios, minus the unnecessary ballast such as posters, patch examples, and synths.
In addition to the Moog 3-Tier Rack Stand, the Sound Studio Accessory Kit includes the aforementioned mixer / power supply. You also get a dust cover, a set of patch cables (although you’ll likely want more soon) and a cable holder. Power distribution cables and a single DC adapter that powers the whole system are also included.
