Moon Armada Copy Box: Lo-fi delays and modulated echoes
Copy Box is a desktop delay module from Mood Armada, famous for their Baby Bots, that’s full of tape-style character, warmth and playfulness from subtle modulations to mighty mangles.
Copy Box
Here’s a delightful looking box that could add some interesting flavour to your desktop music-making. Copy Box is a delay effect box that offers warm saturated and lo-fi sounds like those found with tape delays. It’s designed for modulated, wobbly sounds and has an in-built LFO to send the delay times off on journeys of discovery. This modulation gives it an opportunity to play in the arena of other effects such as chorus, tremolo and FM.

On the top you have controls over wet/dry mix, feedback and delay time plus three controls for the LFO including the shape. The delay time can also be modulated externally by CV and the inputs and outputs are minijack sized for easy incorporation into a modular setup. The circuit is based on the PT2399 chip that’s known for its warm, analog feel and it all runs on a 9V battery.
Copy Box is available now for €219 from Powland.

OK, it’s boutique.
But – a PT2399 costs 2€, some extra parts for the LFO and a box, maybe 30€ in total. If this would sell for 100€ there would still be a profit. 219€ ist way too high.
