Morley adds new 20/20 pedals: Wah Lock, Wah Boost and Lead Wah
New wah pedal with integrated 20/20 buffers
Morley has added three new wah models to its ever-increasing line-up of 20/20 pedals. The headlines: New, pedalboard-friendly enclosures, glow-in-the-dark logos, 20/20 buffers and noiseless switching. Now it’s time for a closer look!
Morley MTG3 20/20 Wah Lock
This pedal has the switchless design typical of the other Morley wah pedals, but is also has the 20/20 Buffer which should help with maintain the integrity of your signal. The wah-lock mode emulates a fixed position of the wah pedal when engaged. The third mode called Whoa shifts the envelope and produces a deep vocal-like wah sound.
RRP – EUR 219
Morley 20/20 Wah Boost
So what’s the “Boost” all about then? This lets you dial in up to +20 dB of clean boost. It has a wide wah sweep range and focused mids as well. Like the other 20/20 pedals, it has the 20/20 Buffer to help keep your guitar signal intact.
RRP – EUR 185
Morley 20/20 Lead Wah
Last up is the Morley 20/20 Lead Wah. This one is aimed at players that enjoy high-gain sounds, and it’s geared towards cutting through leads and solos. Hence the name. Again, it is a switchless design, so easy to operate. You get a nice wide sweep range, making it a good choice for modern lead wah tones.
RRP – EUR 189
Close to the perfect wah pedal?
All in all, there’s a lot to be positive about here. OK, full disclosure: I’m a wah pedal addict and currently own around 20, including some Morley units. And I will definitely be checking these out when they hit dealers later this month.
I love the switchless wah format and the added 20/20 buffer is a great additio. For the money, these could be great for ‘modern’ wah tones. I look forward to hearing reviews from users soon. For now, check out the video below or head over to Morley’s site for more details.
