MOTU launches Touch Console tablet control surface for its modern interfaces
MOTU (Mark Of The Unicorn) announced the availability of the Touch Console control surface and mobile mixing web application for tablets. It’s now compatible with the full range of modern MOTU audio interfaces – including the 248, 16A, 8M, 112D, 828es, UltraLite-mk4, UltraLite AVB, Monitor-8 and Stage-B16. They require a free firmware update, following which they will be ready to operate with Touch Console. Simply launch the Pro Audio Control web app or copy the firmware update file on your studio computer to perform an offline update.
Touch Console
The web app presents touchscreen control over the DSP-based 48-channel mixer with 12 busses and effects. These include a 4-band parametric EQ, compression and limiting, classic reverb, and an emulation of the old LA-2A levelling amplifier. The “On Faders” panel lets you quickly map sends for any bus or group to channel faders, giving out long-throw fader control over send levels and easier channel navigation.
What’s more, multiple musicians can access the seven stereo AUX busses, enabling wireless control over their personal monitor mix from a smartphone or tablet.
MOTU promised, MOTU delivered. Enjoy the app if you own a product from the brand and let us know about your experience in the comments section below.
