Mr Black LTD Digi-Delay – The perfect digital delay?
Limited run of this talented pedal designer's 'perfect digital delay'
Mr Black pedals are based in Portland, Oregon USA and Jack Deville does design some mean delay, reverb and other time-based effects. From his Super Moon through to his Tunnel Worm effects, they already have a cult following. So, this limited run of what he calls ‘the perfect digital delay’ has piqued our interest.
900ms…
…delay time is on offer here, and the claim is that those 900ms are all “crisp and articulate”. There are a couple of audio demos on the Mr Black site and they do sound rather good to my ear. But you can never tell until you try them out for yourself. I do own some the Mr Black pedals and so I will say they are ‘bloody good’. I have high expectations for this new addition.
The unit has Level, Time and Regen controls, which are all self-explanatory. It’s also True bypass and operates from 9V DC power supply or battery. The delay itself has a subtle modulation to its core sound and this is where it will also get some of that character. Plus, the unit can be driven into self-oscillation if desired. Mr Black say it works very well with bass and baritone guitars, as well as regular guitar signals.

Limited Run
The LTD Digi-Delay is produced in limited run which is a pity, really. However, if they are popular then that could, of course, change.
