NAMM 2018: Electro-Harmonix 95000 Performance Loop Laboratory
With 375 minutes and 100 loops on tap could this be the ultimate looper pedal?
The new Electro-Harmonix 95000 Performance Loop Laboratory pedal has a whopping 375 minutes and 100 loops available. Coupled with a full-on rack of buttons, sliders and other controls that look like lots of fun, this unit should keep you entertained for many an hour.
Electro-Harmonix 95000 Performance Looper
The 95000 is made with a rugged, aluminium, all-metal chassis with 6 footswitches. There 6 tracks available, each with its own pan and volume control. The pedal uses a Micro SD Card to hold up to a whopping 375 minutes of high-quality 44.1kHz audio and has the ability to sync via MIDI In & Out and a MIDI clock sync, so it looks like a pretty versatile looper. YOu can also sync up to units for even more looping mayhem.
Ins & Outs
With two audio inputs both capable of handling a microphone, the 95000 has its own built-in phantom power as well. The unit itself gets its power from the included EHX 9.6VDC 500mA power supply. It also has left and right outputs, a monitor out and a handy headphone out as well, so it should be easy enough to integrate into your rig.
You can also import and export .wav files to Mac and PC via the built-in USB port, which allows you to easily load up your sets and back up your audio files, or send them to your audio editor for fine-tuning.
Reverse
Alongside the ability to adjust the speed over a 2-octave range and reverse your audio, you also get quantised or non-quantised audio recording available to you. On paper, this looks like a fully fledged recording/looping system for creative players and could be a lot of fun to use.
With any looper, the user interface and ease of use are what makes or breaks the product and so I would suggest you check out the official Electro-Harmonix demo videos below to get an idea of what the workflow is like on the 95000.
