NAMM 2018: ESP LTD M-1007MS intros its first multi scale guitar
LTD's first ever production multi scale models
Possibly the biggest and most highly anticipated new release from ESP was its LTD M-1007MS, the first ever production model multiscale instrument from LTD.
M-1007MS
We saw these new LTD models listed late last year, but they finally launch at the NAMM Show and so we get to hear one at last!
First off, it is also available as an 8 string called the 1008MS and so you have the option of ordering a 7 or an 8 multiscale guitar from ESP, which may not sound like a big deal at first, but you have to remember that they have never done this before with their LTD range.
Multi-scale
What you get here is a 27” – 25.5” scale length which is what makes it multi-scale funnily enough, it has a slanted Hipshot string-thru-body bridge, locking LTD 1000 series tuners which I would imagine will give you rock solid tuning and great intonation combined.
With a pair of Seymour Duncan Custom Angled Nazgul bridge and Sentient neck passive humbucking pickups, this thing should sound pretty meaty.
Made with a lightweight mahogany body and with a flamed maple drop top finished in see-through black satin it looks very modern and sleek. The five-piece neck is constructed from maple and purple heart with a Macassar ebony fretboard with 24 extra-jumbo fanned frets for perfect intonation and playability.
I think this is a pretty big deal for 2018 and one that could be very popular with players that want a high quality 7 or 8 string instrument without paying the earth for one. Check out the Premier Guitar NAMM video below to hear it in action.
RRP – USD 1199
