The EVH 5150 III 6L6 amp head has had a revamp for 2018 and the matching combo has also undergone a little weight loss this year as well, looks like 2018 will be the year of small amps.
EVH 5150 III Combo and Mini head
The 6L6 version of the classic 5150 design has been made smaller for 2018 and they are also using the same controls as the 5150 III 50 watt EL34 heads from last year. By using dual-concentric volume and gain controls they can make the heads physically smaller and therefore, hopefully, a bit lighter as well.

Dinky Controls
My only gripe is that if you have large fingers then these dual concentric pots are a bit awkward to use and especially on a dark stage environment, which is often where you need to tweak your amp tone.
Though I reckon if they sound as good as previous versions then all will be forgiven, as the 5150 III series does sound rather nice, especially with 50-watts of power on tap!
Available in Black or Ivory as either a small head, a 1×12 combo or a 2×12 combo.
