NAMM 2019: Blackstar JJN-20R Jared James Nichols signature amp
Bluespower! A new 20-watt signature guitar amp for Jared.
Blackstar has just revealed a new JJN-20R Jared James Nichols signature head and cab for the rising guitar star. He only just got a signature Epiphone Old Glory model a few days ago and now he has the amp to go with it. Nice one, Jared!
Blackstar JJN-20R Jared James Nichols
The new signature JJN-20R Jared James Nichols is a two-channel, 20-Watt amp head in Racing Green, powered by two EL84 valves in the power stage and an ECC83 in the preamp section. The amp has both clean and overdrive channels at its disposal, with a neat footswitchable BLUES POWER setting. I’m guessing that’s a boost of sorts for when you want to get your blues on.
Bluespower is Jared’s thing and he has it inscribed on a plate by the bridge of his new signature Epiphone Old Glory Les Paul Custom as well.
Record Outputs
This amp has a built-in reverb and you can turn the power down to 2 Watts. It also has USB audio and XLR DI outs on the back for recording.
There’s a matching JN-212VOC MkII 2×12 vertical cab, too, also in that classy Racing Green Tolex finish. It comes loaded with a Celestion V-Type and G12T-75 speaker.
Endorsee
Jared has been a Blackstar endorser for some time now, so it is nice to see him finally get his own signature model amp setup in 2019. There is no further information on the company’s site about this new model yet. However, I’m sure details will emerge properly post the Winter NAMM weekend.
The amp is a limited run and so you shouldn’t hang around too long to get your hands on one, or they could all be gone. Bluespower!
