John Mayer has just posted on Instagram teasing what may well be a new PRS guitar release and after last year’s Silver Sky tease and then release, the guitar world could be arguing over this new product throughout 2019!
SE Silver Sky?
Are we about to get a PRS SE version of the Silver Sky or is it just new colours? Either way, I am sure this new product will be big news.
Hopefully, John won’t have to defend this new one as he did with the Silver Sky signature model. We know Mayer and Paul Reed Smith are good friends and their business model makes perfect sense.

Thick as Thieves
Because Mayer can go straight to Paul, the man that owns and builds the instruments, he has a special relationship with him and we’d expect to see more in 2019.
So will NAMM 2019 bring a new John Mayer guitar?
Or will it just be a new batch of colours for the existing USA made PRS Silver Sky models?
We don’t know, but there is not long to wait until we all do!

No new PRS SE Silver Sky. Boo!
But, we got new colours, Yay!
Moc Sand, Orion Green, Dodgem Blue and Golden Mesa

More overpriced PRS humbug which lacks any innovation or own design. PRS is a bit like Apple, lots of fanboys who fail to see they pay ridiculous amounts for average products. If that makes Mayer happy to put his name on this, his decision.
