NAMM 2019: Marshall Studio Classic, Vintage and Jubilee launched
Studio Series 20 watt amps with some serious history behind them
That new Marshall amp I wrote about this morning was legit. It turns out that it is part of their new Marshall Studio range that they are launching at Winter NAMM.
Marshall Studio
There are three classic Marshall amp styles on offer a Plexi, JCM800 and Silver Jubilee version of each of these new Marshall Studio models. Each model is based around an ECC83 preamp section and two EL34 output valves. This gives you 20-watts of power, but you can switch it down to 5-watts as well.
They all have controls for Presence, Bass, Middle and Treble control.
All of them are built in the UK, the amps are all available in a head or combo format. The combos versions all have a single 10” Celestion V-type speaker loaded.
The Differences
The new Studio Classic – JCM800 2203 and has high and low-sensitivity, inputs, plus preamp and master volumes.
Whereas the Studio Vintage – JMP 1959SLP has a Plexi layout with High Treble and Normal channels and four inputs
And last, the Studio Jubilee which is essentially the Mini Jubilee renamed really.
Mini But Mighty!
I think that these are all really neat looking little amps, with enough power and flexibility to gig and record with. Prices aren’t yet confirmed, but it shouldn’t be long before dealers get their hands on them
RRP – TBC
