NAMM 2019: Neumann KH 750 DS compact subwoofer
Its first-ever studio headphones aside, Berlin royalty Neumann announced a valuable addition to its KH 80 DSP studio monitor set – the KH 750 DSP. It’s a compact subwoofer designed for tracking, mixing, and mastering in smaller studio spaces.
Neumann endowed the sub with a 2.0/0.1 Bass Manager to make it suit various system configurations. There are also analog (XLR) and digital (AES3 & S/PDIF) inputs and outputs, the digital ones working at 24-bit/192kHz. The sub integrates with the Neumann Control App for iPad, which provides access to a variety of features for optimizing the subwoofer’s placement and integrating it as part of a monitoring system.
For its compact subwoofer, Neumann designed a 10-inch long-throw driver with a large magnet, linear motor design, and pressed steel basket. The cabinet is sealed, which optimizes transient response.
Price and availability information for the KH 750 DSP is to be confirmed. More information can be found on its product page.
