The new Sheeran brand is a collaboration between Lowden Guitars and Ed Sheeran to produce acoustic guitars using the world famous singer-songwriter’s name.
Sheeran
Ed Sheeran knows a thing about writing songs and then performing in front of thousands of people. With nothing but an acoustic guitar and a looper pedal to accompany him, a clever man and a great songwriter.
The range is designed for great playability and tone. They are also using materials with high sustainability credentials. All the models are designed with Ed’s input and built in Ireland with the help of Lowden.
He goes on to state –
“It’s definitely not a starter guitar, it’s not like a 100 dollars or something. It’s at the same price point as all the guitars like the first guitar that I bought, exactly the same price as that.”
Lowden
Ed Sheeran and George Lowden are friends and this has been a big part of this new venture between the two. I cannot think of a better acoustic guitar company to do this really, so think it is a great idea. Whatever you think about Ed’s music, you cannot deny his success and Lowden make fantastic acoustics.

S and Wee
The new Sheeran by Lowden range features eight models, that share two small body sizes familiar from the Lowden range, the ‘S’ and ‘the Wee.’ Ed Sheeran already plays both player friendly sizes himself and so it makes sense he would choose these for his brand.
Both guitars are almost bare wood, with minimal finishes to help the resonate and it should also make them feel great to play as well.
I think this is all a really great idea and if it encourages more people out to go out and buy an acoustic guitar because they see Ed’s name on it then I’m all for that. The world needs more musicians and songwriters.
