NAMM 2020: AKG K361-BT and K371-BT studio headphones with Bluetooth
AKG has announced the K361-BT and K371-BT professional studio headphones with Bluetooth. Aimed at artists and engineers who want the flexibility of wireless or wired connectivity and studio-quality sound, the K361-BT and K371-BT feature an over-ear, closed-back design.
Six months after introducing the K361 and K371, AKG has decided to add Bluetooth. The company says that the K361-BT and K371-BT are precision-engineered to reproduce audio in great detail and offer the best frequency response in their class. Both models are equipped with 50 mm drivers and pure copper, oxygen-free voice coils. According to AKG, this ensures a transparent sound and balanced lows, mids, and highs. While the K361-BT and K371-BT feature wireless Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, they can also be used with cables. AKG has also added built-in microphones for two-way Bluetooth communication, so you can even use them to make phone calls while you’re mixing or editing.
AKG K361-BT
The AKG K361-BT over-ear, closed-back headphones have a frequency response of 15 Hz to 28 kHz. They come with slow-retention foam pads for wearing comfort. The earcups swivel 90 degrees, which is useful if you prefer single-ear monitoring while singing. AKG says that the K361-BT can last up to 24 hours on a single charge. They weigh 260 grams (9.2 ounces).
AKG K371-BT
The K371-BT are over-ear, closed-back headphones with a frequency response of 5 Hz to 40 kHz. These, too, feature swiveling earcups with ergonomic slow-retention foam pads. The K371-BT offers a battery life of up to 40 hours on a single charge.
Both headphones come with carrying pouches and a variety of cables. In addition to 3 m and 1.2 m straight audio cables, they include a 1 m USB charging cable and a 3.5 mm to 6.5 mm adapter.
Price and availability
According to AKG, the K361-BT and K371-BT headphones will be available in January 2020. The K361-BT costs USD 161.25 (US MSRP), while the K371-BT can be had for USD 223.75.
