NAMM 2020: Death By Audio ROOMS stereo digital reverb pedal
A new Death By Audio ROOMS stereo digital reverb pedal has been teased on Instagram and social media on the run up to Winter NAMM.
Death By Audio ROOMS
Looks like Death By Audio has a new reverb effect coming out soon. At the time of writing, information is sparse. What we do know for sure is, that it is a stereo digital reverb pedal called ROOMS and comes with 6 programs. It has Frequency, Depth and Time controls (to dial in the reverb, presumably), plus controls for Dry and FX. There are three more parameter controls labelled F, D and T, as well as an Alt footswitch.
The pedal is not currently on the Death By Audio website and so we will have to wait until it officially launches to get the full run down on all of these controls.
Gate
The 6 programs are labeled Room, Digit, Peak, Gate, Wave and Gong. It can be run in mono or stereo, and was designed for both studio and live use. According to the Reverb video below from NAMM this weekend, we know that the Gate program is a volume sensitive envelope and works with the reverb underneath it.
Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait till we know more about this device and what it is capable of. But it looks interesting and is definitely one to watch out for later this year.
