NAMM 2020: Fender Parallel Universe Volume II Maverick Dorado
The new Fender Parallel Universe Volume II Maverick Dorado has just landed. It’s an odd looking beast, indeed. One for all the 12-string ‘hockey stick headstock’ fans perhaps?
Fender Parallel Universe Volume II Maverick Dorado
The new Fender Parallel Universe Volume II series for 2020 opens up with the Maverick Dorado model. With its quirky body and distinct 12-string hockey stick headstock shape, it’s an odd looking vintage guitar indeed. Available in Firemist Gold, Mystic Pine Green or Ultraburst finishes.
Leftovers
It is nosed on the Maverick, also known as the Custom, which was cobbled together using leftover 12-string guitar parts to make a very unique looking 6-string guitar.
Bigsby and ‘Trons
The Maverick Dorado comes loaded with a pair of Tim Shaw designed Filter’Tron-style humbucking pickups and a Bigsby vibrato. The neck has a nice dark ebony fingerboard with block inlays. The scale length is unusual for Fender, coming in at 24.75″.
Features
- Alder body with lacquer finish
- Tim Shaw-designed Filter’tron style humbucking pickups
- Adjusto-Matic Bridge with Bigsby Vibrato
- Ebony fingerboard with binding and block inlays
