NAMM 2020: Fullerton Ukulele Series – Fender builds the coolest Ukes!
How cool can ukuleles actually look? Fender has the answer with the new Fullerton Ukulele Series. I have already found my favourite. Have you found yours?
Fullerton Ukulele Series
With the introduction of the Fullerton Ukulele Series, Fender wants to fuse the popular little instrument with the iconic shapes of its own models. Perfect for musicians who want a little bit of rock ‘n’ roll on a ukulele.
Telecaster, Stratocaster and Jazzmaster
The Fullerton ukuleles are based on three classic Fender forms, the Telecaster, Stratocaster and Jazzmaster. The latter is my personal favorite, as I love an offset guitar. Maybe I should start learning ukulele too. I’m 6’2″ so it will look tiny on me and I can feel like a giant!
Preamp
The ukuleles are made out of a laminated spruce top, a maple neck and a fingerboard made of laminated walnut wood. The “no-tie bridge” makes it easier to string up, without any awkward knots. There is even a pickup installed!
With a price of only 189 euros, they will appeal to both beginners and advanced players. The information speaks of a separate preamp with tone controls. Unfortunately, the product images do not give a proper insight.
Fullerton Telecaster
The Fullerton Telecaster deviates from traditional ukulele construction and aesthetics. This model is available in Butterscotch Blonde and Black.
RRP – EUR 189
Fullerton Stratocaster
Isn’t she cute? Just look at that little pickguard. The basic features are of course, the same for all models.
RRP – EUR 189
Jazzmaster Uke
Ladies and gentlemen, here comes my absolute favourite of the new series: a ukulele in offset design and a super cool pickguard. The old school spaghetti logo is also cute. I’m in love.
The perfect mini offset?
All you need now is a fuzzbox and a 100-watt stack!
RRP – EUR 189

I’ve preordered the butterscotch Tele and sunburst Strat. I won’t play them – I already have a Fender Mino-aka Koa CE to strum. These ones will just hang next to my butterscotch Tele and sunburst Strat. It’s going to look so cool.
