NAMM 2020: Source Audio EQ2 – The last EQ you’ll ever need?
Possibly the only EQ pedal you will ever need?
The new version of the Source Audio EQ2 Equalizer will be presented at Winter NAMM 2020 and will be released in March. What can this new ‘all singing, all dancing’ EQ pedal do then?
Source Audio EQ2
Fans of Source Audio certainly know that their great pedals offer all sorts of useful pro features – but those who have never dealt with the company will probably fall out of the clouds with the spec list . The EQ2 is not just a simple basic ‘bog standard’ EQ, but an EQ to make you happy, isn’t it?
Specs
It combines a graphic and parametric equalizer with 10 bands . There are
- Mono and dual mono (stereo) inputs and outputs
- MIDI In and Thru sockets
- 8 presets (onboard)
- 128 MIDI presets
- 12dB master volume boost
- 2 EQ presets simultaneously (1 per output)
It’s not just any EQ for guitarists. It is probably the EQ with the most functions and could be a fantastic tool for many musicians.
Everything you need in one EQ pedal?
The Source Audio EQ2 is actually everything that can be usefully combined with an EQ pedal. According to the manufacturer, the first EQ was the first of its kind. Due to the enormous options, it is certainly not only suitable for guitar, but also for bass or keys as well as synthesisers. With an adapter and level converter, probably also for the vocals to a degree as well.
Source Audio will be at Booth #5347 Hall D so you’ll be able to try it out later this week. If you do, let us know what you think of it in the comments section below.
