Native Instruments Traktor Z1 MK2: Slick 4-Deck Control in a Slim Package
A new Controller With Stem Control, Mixer FX, and Customizable Undershell LEDs
Native Instruments Traktor Z1 MK2 DJ mixer controller adds stem control, mixer FX, and customizable undershell LEDs. So fast so furious!
Native Instruments Traktor Z1 MK2
At long last, Traktor Z1 MK2 is here. A refresh of the company’s DJ mixer controller, it maintains the original’s slim form factor while updating to work seamlessly with the latest version of Traktor Pro. Hybrid DJs, Native Instruments Traktor Z1 MK2 is calling your name.
What’s New?
A lot has happened in the 11 years since the original Traktor Z1 debuted. AI has made inroads into DJ tech – including Traktor Pro 4 software – and that’s reflected in Traktor Z1 MK2, which has a dedicated stem control section for precise control over individual stems.
Displays are fancier in 2024 too, with crisp and bright OLED now the industry standard. Traktor Z1 MK2 sports three of them, providing essential mixing information and keeping your eyes away from your computer screen.
Effects are pretty standard when DJing now so Traktor Z1 MK2 offers a mixer FX section, with intuitive, one-knob control over nine different effects, including filter, reverb, delay and a gater.
Decks and Lights
Traktor Z1 MK2 may be small but it offers control of up to four decks in Traktor Pro 4 and includes a built-in audio interface. For additional buttons, you can easily pair it with other Traktor gear like the X1 MK3 or F1.
Additionally, Native Instruments’ new controller features a transparent undershell with functional lighting. You can even customize the LED colors. It’s like a neon undercarriage for your controller instead of your car.
“Thanks to plug-and-play connectivity, DJs can set up Traktor Z1 MK2 quickly, and the compact form factor makes it easy to transport for gigs, practice sessions, or mobile performances,” said Native Instruments.
Price and Availability
Native Instruments Traktor Z1 MK2 comes bundled with Traktor Pro 4 and is available now from Thomann* ($226 / 249 € / £211).
