Neural DSP releases Archetype amp modelling plugin with help from Plini
Designed in conjunction with Australian guitar virtuoso Plini.
Neural DSP has released a new amp modelling plug-in called Archetype Plini. It’s been built with help from the eponymous Australian guitar virtuoso and roles three dedicated virtual amps into one, adding a powerful 9-band EQ to help you sculpt your tones.
Archetype
The new Archetype plug-in models three all-new amps using Neural DSP‘s proprietary virtual amp algorithm. It looks like they Neural DSP has focussed on Plini to help them develop something with more than just your usual bog-standard, regular virtual copies of old classic vintage amps. Taking a slightly different starting point certainly helps them stand out in what is by now a crowded market place.
Clean, Crunch and Lead
Essentially, the three amps cover Clean, Crunch and Lead tones. These can be boosted via an overdrive pedal or tamed with a virtual compressor. The aforementioned 9-band graphic equaliser is also on hand to fine-tune your amp tone.
Add to this virtual cabinets and mics, plus a whole slew of new and exclusive speaker captures by ML Sound Lab, and there’s a lot of virtual hardware to pay around with here.
Time & Space
Last but not least you also get the Time Effects section, which gives you a tape delay algorithm that Neural DSP says is a “perfect combination between cutting edge-technology and vintage warmth and color”. There’s also a “multidimensional” reverb. I think you should have enough here to make some nice guitar tones and it looks simple enough to use. Hopefully, this package will let you get things set up quickly so you can stay in the creative mood.
You can even download a 14-day free trial to try before you buy. I think this is worth checking out and having a listen to Plini putting Archetype through its paces in the official demo video below.
Archetype Plini comes in both 32 or 64-bit VST/AU/AAX formats and can also run standalone.
RRP – EUR 119
