OBNE BL-37 Reverb with Clock slider control for warping
Stretchy warped reverb for sonic pioneers
Old Blood Noise Endeavors has just announced the new BL-37 Reverb pedal, the latest in the series that also includes the BL-44 Variable Clock Reverse and BL-82 Chorus. It features the same Clock slider that controls the timing of the entire system.
OBNE BL-37 Reverb
The new OBNE BL-37 Reverb can achieve some great long or degraded reverbs. It does a lot of the grunt work via the main Clock slider control in the centre of the pedal.
This is accompanied by the Mix, Volume and Feedback control that most users will expect on a reverb pedal.
It features artwork by Brandy M Patterson which fits in nicely with the rest of the pedal series.
Clock
The Clock slider affects the timing of the entire effect, moving from what OBNE describes as quick snappy reverb to long strange tails. Moving from a quick, tile-bathroom echo out to a darker, lo-fi-almost stretched reverb.
It also introduces two points of modulation within the circuit which impact the reverb.
Feedback then lengthens the decay of the reverb and increases the modulation character. The Volume and Mix work as you would expect, setting the overall output level and dry/wet signal blend as desired.
Stretchy, Warped and Fun
As ever with OBNE they don’t do things by halves, so users will find the reverb warps, degrade and stretches whilst tweaked. This is all part of the unique design of this reverb circuit and is what gives the BL-37 its unique character.
The BL-37 features OBNE’s soft-touch bypass footswitch for true bypass and minimal switch noise when operated. Power requirements are a 9V DC centre negative 2.1mm jack power supply capable of 110mA.
