Old Blood Noise Endeavors Expression Ramper
OBNE has been offering utility products for while, like its Split/Meld. Its latest offering is the Expression Ramper that adjusts effect pedal parameters between two expression settings and then moves between them. The transition between the two settings is then carried out by the electronics in one motion or as a continuous LFO activated by the pedal’s footswitch.
Simple but effective
This pedal looks simple but should be ideal for applying a bit of movement to a passage of music to make it more interesting. And you can set it off with just one click. You can hook the Expression Ramper up to any pedal with an expression input, so it is pretty versatile and can be utilised in various ways. The pedal has a configurable EXP output; TRS, TRS reverse polarity or TS are all supported.
The shapes provided are triangle, square and one-shot, accessed via a toggle switch. The Rate control sets the speed of movement. Pretty simple stuff, so it’s nice and easy to use – just what I’m looking for in a great little utility pedal. Expression Ramper is powered by an external 9V adapter and you have an LED indicator to let you know which setting is currently active.
