openDAW: A Completely Free Browser-based Music Production System
A free DAW for music production and audio editing.
Introducing openDAW, a free web-based audio workstation for any computer, designed to be the perfect way to learn about music production.
openDAW has been created by André Michelle, a freelance web developer with a vision for making music production accessible for everyone, from new beginners to seasoned professionals.

Despite the spritely new DAW interface, openDAW feels strangely familiar, with layout and feature characteristics that resemble Ableton Live, Cubase, and Bitwig Studio in some way or another. From the default view, you can see the Timeline, with your audio and MIDI tracks, the Note Editor, and the Device Panel where you can access your plugins.
The interface has been designed to allow you to quickly familiarise yourself, so you can immediately get to work the task at hand, be it audio editing, recording, or sketching your latest musical idea. Overall, the feature set offers a nice balance of basic necessities like aux busses and send fx, as well as a few creative tools to keep you inspired.
One such feature is the Modular System, which is an environment for building your own custom processing chains or sequencing engines. If you’re an OG Logic user, you’ll be familiar with this concept, and this is a very exciting feature for a free DAW to have. Another promising prospect is what openDAW refers to as “Discoverable Toys“.
With this feature, the platform allows more experimental or non-traditional processors or sequencing devices with interesting visual interfaces that allow you to think and work in unique ways with both audio and MIDI.

Although the software is free, there are many ways in which you can support the platform and play a role in the community. Every Friday at 18:00 (CEST), you can tune in to a weekly video call on Discord for details on the latest features and a chance to share your own ideas on how to improve the platform.
In addition, you can also support openDAW by buying merch and supporting on Ko-fi or Patreon. Just follow this link for more info on how to join the community.

Training AI much?
Just another data-mining and AI training garbage.
Why do people think it’s free and online?
Hard pass.
