The Peavey Josh Homme Decade Too is the new collaboration with the Queens of the Stone Age frontman and occasional Eagles of Death Metal member. It is billed as the lost art of keeping a secret of his recorded guitar tone.

Josh Homme Decade Too

This Peavey Josh Homme Decade Too could save you a fortune on buying an old used amp for inflated prices on the used market.

The original Peavey Decade (long out of production) gained legendary status after Queens of the Stone Age frontman Joshua Homme revealed its crucial role in shaping his signature guitar tone in an interview with producer/songwriter Mark Ronson.

This revelation sparked a surge in demand for the vintage amps, prompting Peavey to collaborate with Homme to bring back the beloved design.

Pedals, including the Skeleton Key and the Solid State, have all tried to emulate these tones. But now you can buy the actual amp Homme used, but with some nice modern upgrades.

Updates

However, it boasts several enhancements that make it more practical for recording. This includes an Enhanced Gain Control, which features PRE and POST gain controls for precise tone shaping.

It also comes with a foot-switchable Saturation that Peavey describes as a tube-like sustain and overdrive at low volumes, and it is based on their Peavey Saturation technology, making it ideal for bedroom practice or professional recording.

Finally, and probably the most helpful updates, are the balanced XLR output for direct recording, an effects loop, and speaker outs for connecting an extension cabinet.
