Peavey Preamp Pedals: Bandit Supreme Teal Stripe Pedal

Peavey has brought back the legendary lead channel circuit from the early ’90s Bandit 112 and Supreme 160 amps, and made it into one of the most exciting Peavey preamp pedals. This faithful reproduction gives you the same legendary tone shaping, with Pre and Post Gain controls and switches for Gain and Mid-Shift.

The three-band active EQ – Bottom, Body, and Edge – provides tonal versatility, while the internal bipolar power supply ensures authentic amp-like dynamics from a standard 9V supply or battery. The pedal also incorporates a Hard Bypass switch with an anti-click circuit, ensuring clean signal routing when disengaged.

Decade Pedal: QOTSA-in-a-Pedal!

Peavey is also bringing back the Decade Pedal, not just as the Decade Too, but also as one of their Peavey Preamp Pedals. It’s also based on the legendary Decade amp circuit from the 1980s. Peavey days, this faithful recreation gets you the same tonal mojo that made the original a cult favorite, but with modern touches like a switchable Saturation channel for added grit and sustain, something they also added to the Decade Too.

Like the Bandit, the Decade Pedal also includes a three-band EQ, a hard bypass switch (with an anti-click), and Pre- and Post-Gain controls. Plus, its internal 24V power supply gives you the same dynamic response and headroom as the vintage amp. If the Decade Too isn’t your thing, this Pedal will probably get you pretty close to Josh Homme’s sound.

Rock Master Preamp Pedal

Possibly the most exciting release of the Peavey preamp pedals, Peavey is also bringing the legendary Rock Master “Ultra” channel circuit from the 1990s. The pedal runs on an internal HV TransTube power supply that uses the standard 9 volts or battery, and it’s said to have the same dynamic headroom as the popular amp channel.

Just like the other Peavey preamp pedals, it’s got a Hard Bypass switch (again, with anti-click circuitry), the original’s Pre and Post Gain controls, and Gain and Mid Shift switches for sculping your perfect tone. The three-band active EQ (Bottom, Body, and Edge) offers additional tonal flexibility, and I can’t wait to actually hear the pedal in action!

Session-LTD 400 Preamp Pedal

For the Session-LTD 400 Preamp Pedal, Peavey has captured the essence of the original Session/LTD 400 preamp circuit from 1974. It’s been designed with steel guitarists and tone purists in mind, delivering all the vintage warmth and clarity of the original.

Hard Bypass switch, three-band EQ—you know the drill by now. However, to stay true to the original, Peavey has added a shift control to fully dial in the mid-frequency you want to boost or cut and a Presence control.

VTM Preamp Pedal

While some may be most excited about the Rock Master Preamp, it seems like quite a few Grunge heads will be celebrating this one the most. The VTM Preamp Pedal encapsulates the sound of the Peavey VTM 60/120 preamp circuit from around 1987. Early Soundgarden, Alice in Chains – need I say more?

Peavey VTM Pedal

While the pedal comes with most of the same controls as the other Peavey Preamp Pedals – three-band EQ, Pre and Post Gain, this one also includes an eight-position DIP switch in the middle, just like the amp. It allows you to change the pedal sonic character with different gain structures, an optional compressor, and more.

How much do the pedals cost?

Peavey themselves originally listed them at 239 USD, now they’re selling for 199 USD, but it seems that they are sold out for now.

I owned a Peavey Bandit 112 in the early 90s. It had the worst overdrive/distortion/lead channel I have ever heard.

I still have the red stripe bandit and its over drive channel will rival some of the more expensive tube amps I have owned ..I think the trans tube circuit is the best SS distortion there is .and it came out in the mid 90,s …and still the modern bandit has a great distortion .
