Pittsburgh Modular reveal new Primary Oscillator ahead of debut at Superbooth
Pittsburgh Modular is in the creative zone at the moment. What with the Microvolt revealed at NAMM, the very cool looking sequencer we saw last week and now a brand new “Primary Oscillator”.
Primary Oscillator
At once I’m disappointed that the sleek black look of the Microvolt and sequencer haven’t influenced their other modules. They’ve always looked a little dull to me in the silver and grey. But anyway, this is an exciting new oscillator in the Lifeforms range that they are calling the Primary Oscillator.
It has a very interesting sculpting section with three unusual parameters called “Blade”, “Fragments” and “timbre”. Blade seems to be about shape, Fragments about density and timbre about depth. They call is “cascading analog waveform sculpting”.
