Polyend Step
Polyend Step is a drum machine for your feet! The floor-based drum computer is loaded with professional features not commonly found in other drum stompboxes. Primarily designed as a stage and practice companion for performers, singer/songwriters, and loop artists, Step offers everything you need to create rocking beats with your feet.
To start with, the pedal comes with 350 preset rhythm patterns and 200 (!) drum kits. Looking for something a bit more inspiring than a metronome for practice? Simply select one of the included patterns and start jamming. But you can also program your own grooves from scratch. A pattern consists of 16 steps and you can combine patterns to build complex songs. More than 1000 songs can be stored.
The sequencer offers four tracks for building complex, multi-layered grooves. With features like swing, micro-move, and step probability, you can create lively grooves that don’t sound like they came from a computer, much less a stompbox.
In addition, Polyend Steps offers a wide selection of punch-in effects that you can apply on the fly using your feet. There are 50 effects to choose from, 16 of which can be used in any given song.
All performance functions like switching patterns, adjusting the tempo, and activating effects can be controlled with your feet. This means you’ve got your hands free to play your other instruments, operate your loop station, or wave at the audience.
In addition to a stereo output, Polyend Step has a stereo input for connecting a synth, looper, or similar. There’s also an expression pedal jack. Moreover, Step has MIDI In/Out for syncing to a groove box or looper or switching presets on your pedalboard in sync with your drum patterns. For storage, there’s a microSD card slot. The USB-C port lets you connect Step to your computer.

I’ve not met a guitarist who needs microtiming & step probability on a footpedal based drum machine , but there’s always hope.
Hopefully there’ll be some YouTube based demo activity soon, although I suspect it’ll be more of the ‘on a table, with potted plants & assorted trinkets ‘ variety . Go Polyend!
It will be interesting to see how this compares with the Singular Sound BeatBuddy and Digitech Trio+. There isn’t a ton of competition in this niche, so good to see a new alternative.
