Potenza DSP Amigo Sampler: Amen Break Prayers Answered
An old-school sampling plug-in derived from the Commodore Amiga.
The Amigo Sampler is an impressive new plug-in for getting Lo-Fi effects including slicing, stretching, and classic sample rate reduction.
If you’re creating Lo-Fi beats in styles like French House, Boom Bap, or UK Garage, this gritty little sampler plug could be your new best friend.
Potenza DSP Amigo Sampler
Stekker and PotenzaDSP have created the Amigo Sampler for true old-school sampling purists. Using the old Commodore Amiga system as a reference point, the Amigo can downsample any WAV, AIFF, or MP3 file with its 8-bit 22 kHz engine.
Its sample rate range goes from 22168Hz to 4144Hz, with the frequency points used directly from Protracker’s Note tables, using the Amiga to deliver the most authentic sound possible.
In addition, you can load other sample formats including, .iff, .8svx, and .raw. This allows Amiga users to easily convert their sample libraries while still preserving the integrity of each audio sample.
Fun features like AKAI-style time-stretching can be done in real-time. What’s more, you can automate this function to kick in at any part of your track. Furthermore, with Slicemode, you can quickly chop up loops and trigger slices by assigning them to different MIDI notes.
Overall, it’s a great way to create authentic old-school electronic beats without needing a collection of obsolete gear. Moreover, if you are already creating beats with hardware samplers, this is a great little tool to add to your workflow.
Pricing and availability:
