PRS Private Stock Special Semi-Hollow: Luxurious tones
New Semi-Hollow limited edition run from PRS
This PRS Private Stock Special Semi-Hollow is a limited run of very special high-end guitars. Each has tonewoods chosen from the PRS vault and therefore should offer players some great tones.
Private Stock Special Semi-Hollow
This limited edition Private Stock Special Semi-Hollow from PRS will no doubt be very well made instruments. I have yet to play a bad PRS myself, as they are almost always perfectly built and set up. Then factor in the Private Stock element, with tonewoods which include a flame maple top, plus a Black Limba back and neck, and Ziricote fretboard. These will all have been carefully chosen and well seasoned, so it should sound pretty sweet.
Opulent
That gloss nitro Citrus Glow finish looks really nice over that tightly flamed maple top, and overall it is a nice looking guitar. Especially, for what could be a very flashy looking instrument. I think the dark smoke black pickup surrounds help with the overall aesthetic balance, and it doesn’t look gaudy or over the top. The white mother of pearl and paua inlays are possibly the only really opulent flash on this model.
58/15
This semi-hollow model features a 22-fret, standard PRS 25” scale length neck. It has a single f-hole and comes fitted with a pair of PRS 58/15 humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, plus a PRS Narrowfield single-coil in the middle. These pickups are controlled by a volume and tone knob, with a five-way blade pickup switch and two mini-toggle switches for coil-splitting the humbuckers.
Limited Run
This limited run of 85 guitars will, no doubt, be in demand with PRS enthusiasts. Though, I’m sure they won’t be cheap. Check with your local authorised PRS dealer if you want one. The video below should give you a good idea of what to expect. Thomann has one, so if you want one, don’t hang around too long. As I am sure these will sell out pretty quickly worldwide.
