PRS SE Swamp Ash CE 24 Sandblasted Limited Edition
These PRS SE Swamp Ash CE 24 Sandblasted Limited Edition models have a unique look and are the CE 24’s first outing in the affordable SE lineup.
PRS SE Swamp Ash CE 24 Sandblasted
The new PRS SE Swamp Ash CE 24 Sandblasted Limited Edition is built on the CE platform. PRS has used this aesthetic before on Core lines and some SE models. Now, it is available in the affordable SE range for the CE 24.
“We have done runs with this treatment before, but this is the first time we are offering it at scale worldwide. I really fell in love with these guitars after watching the sandblasting process in person. It’s transformational. But, these guitars are more than just eye-candy – they take a ton of care to make, and they are made to be played,” – Jack Higginbotham, PRS Guitars COO
This model has a swamp ash top and mahogany back with a 24-fret, 25-inch scale length bolt-on maple neck with a rosewood fretboard.
The swamp ash tops have been sandblasted to show off the wood and are then grain-filled in one of five colours, including Sandblasted Blue, Green, Purple, Red, and White.
Coil Tap
They come fitted with the 85/15 “S” pickups, which PRS states offer an extended high and low end, with clarity and balance. They then have a push/pull tone control for splitting the coils, which gives more tonal options.
Smoked Black
All these models come with Smoked Black hardware, including the PRS Patented Tremolo and PRS PRS-designed tuners. It suits the sandblasted look well and helps those colours pop against the black background aesthetic of these guitars.
If you like this darkened look, these limited-run models could be for you. They look a little metal-orientated, and the official PRS demo video gives them a hard rock/metal sound as well.

One response to “PRS SE Swamp Ash CE 24 Sandblasted Limited Edition”
PRS makes some beautiful guitars. And some truly hideous stuff, as well. Every once in a while, they put something out that makes me wonder if it’s the beautiful stuff that is the accident/aberration. This sandblasted stuff will no doubt sell—to the Affliction/VonDutch/EdHardy/Crocs crowd. But it’s another one of those “Yeah, we could do it, but SHOULD we do it” situations.
