Reaktor Blocks 6.4 update: You can now patch User Blocks into racks
Seems obvious but up until now user-made Blocks couldn’t use the front patching “racks” concept that was introduced in version 6.3 – but with 6.4 now they can!
Blocks unblocked
It’s been a year since the 6.3 update revolutionised the Reaktor Blocks modular environment by introducing front panel patching and being able to save patches as racks. Unfortunately, it has only supported the inbuilt Blocks modules and those made by third parties whereas community made Blocks were stuck in the earlier version. So the 6.4 update is great news for the awesome Blocks that users have contributed to the User Library.
To install your newly made Block or one you’ve downloaded from the library simply drop the *.ism file into the Users…..Reaktor 6/Blocks folder. Then you’ll find it under the User icon in the Library tab. They’ll also appear if you use the onscreen search tool. You can now patch them into racks with any of the other user or NI Blocks.
Native Instruments has put up a couple in the User Library including the MASCHINE JAM Sequencer, MASCHINE Sequencer and Niji Drums. But otherwise there are currently 714 Blocks in the library so that sounds like it’s going to be a fun afternoon.
