Recording savant Rupert Neve passes at 94: Rest in sound!
With great humility and sadness, we must report that Rupert Neve, the great professional audio pioneer and inventor, is no longer with us. Rupert Neve died, aged 94, on February 12, 2021 in Wimberley, Texas – his residence of 27 years.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Evelyn; five children, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. His work lives on in the products of Rupert Neve Designs, which he co-founded 16 years ago with Josh Thomas. It can also be traced in almost any piece of modern recording and studio equipment.
With a long and full life behind him, and with his legacy left in the finest possible hands and minds, we are saying goodbye to Rupert Neve and paying our respects one last time. Rest in sound!

My grandma is also 94 and I can’t easily wrap my mind around the fact that one day I’ll have to say goodbye to her.
Well to say Neve is a well used word in recording music would not be inaccurate. The man’s designs are known the world over. RIP Mr Neve, job well done.
