Swiss audio company Revox has teamed up with rock icon Alice Cooper to present an extraordinary collector’s item: a special edition of the classic REVOX B77 MK III tape machine, limited to just 25 units worldwide. This exclusive version of the tape machine not only bears the musician’s distinctive black and red signature, but is also individually numbered and signed. But that’s not all!
REVOX B77 MK III: Alice Cooper Immortalized on Legendary Tape Recorder
The model is technically based on the revised version of the well-known Revox classic, whereby a digital counter, a newly developed capstan and optimized pick-up heads were installed in addition to the original motors. Buyers will also receive a master tape of Cooper’s 2018 EP “The Sound of A,” which is considered an audiophile document of his later creative period.
The REVOX T77 will also be released in a strictly limited edition of only 50 units. The lid features a large portrait of Alice Cooper, which, in combination with the special design, visually emphasizes the closeness to the artist.
The technical features of the model include an integrated MC phono preamplifier, a tonearm made of high-quality metals and a carbon tube, and an Ortofon Quintet Black S MC cartridge with a Nude Shibata diamond on a sapphire mount. A sophisticated electronic speed control via a non-contact optical sensor and a specially developed record weight in the form of the NAB adapter complete the setup.
