Revv D25: 25 Watt combo version of the popular D20
Possibly one of the most flexible combo amps of the year
The Revv D25 is Revv Amplification’s new combo based on their popular D20 head. Except now it is a compact combo with a single Celestion Vintage 30 and offers a switchable power of 5/25 watts. Perfect for getting great tone anywhere as it also has the Two Notes Torpedo technology onboard.
Revv D25
This new Revv D25 could be a great solution for many guitarists because it offers so much and comes in a neat compact package. This practical 1×12 tube combo is designed with an American Voicing voicing. This new combo is suitable for the home, the studio and the stage.
Flexible
Designed in Canada by Revv Amplification, I can see this combo being very popular as it offers flexibility, which is a great feature for a lot of guitarists. The preamplifier is driven by 2x 12AX7, then in the power amplifier, there are 2x 6V6 tubes.
In addition to the common controls Gain, Treble, Middle, Bass and Volume, users will also find a vintage voiced Reverb, a switchable Gain Boost with Voicing for a punchy Top End, the already mentioned switch from 5 to 25 watts and last but not least a switch for Speaker Load.
This will completely deactivate the speaker so that a reactive load intercepts the complete power of the power amplifier, while you get first-class studio sounds from the XLR output.
Two notes
The Torpedo technology from Two Notes is installed in the Revv D25. The company is known for its simulation of loudspeakers. On the front of the amp, you will find a selector switch, through which you can select 6 Cab Sims for a fat sound on the XLR balanced output
In addition, you can also simply connect your headphones and practice in silence.
It also has a buffered effects loop, MIDI, USB, plus connections for footswitches and external speakers.
What it offers us guitarists is a very flexible, great-sounding amp and all in a compact neat package. Considering, all the features it has, I also think that the price point is very reasonable.
