The new Rhodes Anthology Plugin is the second software instrument released by the resurrected manufacturer after Rhodes V8 / V8 Pro. But while the V8 plugin is based on the current Rhodes MK8 model, the Anthology Series focuses on four legendary Rhodes pianos of the past.

More Information

The following Rhodes pianos were sampled for the Rhodes Anthology plugin:

  • Sparkletop 73 (1965): The classic Sparkletop piano is known for its bell-like sound and was used by Miles Davis and The Beatles, among others.
  • Rhodes MK1 Stage 73 (1976): Through the genius of musicians like Herbie Hancock and Stevie Wonder, the MK1 helped define the sound of the 70s.
  • Rhodes MKV 73 (1984): With an improved action and a wider dynamic range, many consider the MKV to represent the pinnacle of classic Rhodes design.
  • Rhodes MK7 73 (2010): As the first Rhodes piano to feature MIDI functionality, the MK7 combines classic Rhodes sounds with modern flexibility.

According to Rhodes, all four pianos were meticulously sampled to capture the warmth and character of the originals.

The built-in effects section was lifted from the V8 plugin. In addition to a selection of preamps, it includes EQvibratochorusphaserdelay, and reverb effects. Moreover, the Timbre Shift function lets you adjust the voicing of the pianos in real time, providing another layer of sonic flexibility.

Price and Compatibility

The Rhodes Anthology Plugin is now available from Plugin Boutique* for a reduced introductory price of $99.95. Unfortunately, we don’t know how long this intro offer will last. The regular price will be $149.95.
