ROLI Seaboard is back and it’s “better than ever before”
ROLI, as part of Luminary, is teasing a forthcoming reveal scheduled for March when they will reveal a new Seaboard controller keyboard.
“A Legend Returns”
Never one for understatement, what’s left of ROLI, after they went bust last September and rebranded as Luminary, are tremendously excited to bring us a new Seaboard controller. It’s just a tease at the moment and we won’t see the whole thing until sometime in March.
Apparently, there’s been a growing call to bring the Seaboard back into production and there must be enough interest to tip Luminary into putting the work in. They say it’s “reimagined, refined and re-engineered for ultimate musical expression”.
We don’t get to see a whole lot in the tease but it seems quite un-keyboard like with offset waves instead of an impression of piano keys. This is certainly an interesting development and could keep the hopes of MPE and MIDI 2.0 alive a little bit longer.

Because of the way ROLI has handled itself in the industry I imagine there will be a fair amount of scepticism but I would very much like to see the Seaboard range of products continue to develop as they’ve definitely brought something unique to the table.
More information as we get it.

fuck these clowns
That was mature. Time to do your homework instead of being allowed on the family computer?
Don’t be such a cry baby
+1
‘Re-imagined’, ‘Re-engineered’ – but I’m guessing the suppliers they screwed when they went bankrupt won’t get ‘Re-paid’ 🙂
This time with more rubber
Sold my Garage Band Songmaker Kit when all the seaboards went out of stock and I realized the company was a sham.
Will it at least have the top C note?
Ha, we can hope 😀
Never ever buy from this company they are scamers this products fallapart or are not playable from the start.
Whatever went wrong in that company, they did reinvent the keyboard in a more significant way since the Harpsichord became the piano!!!
