Schecter Red Dawn Series: ’80s-inspired Shred
New line of '80s aesthetic shred guitars from Schecter
The Schecter Red Dawn Series S-style instruments boast a range of features to maximise playability and tonal versatility, including multi-voiced Fishman Fluence humbuckers as standard. Including a baritone, 7-string, and EverTune-equipped models.
Red Dawn Series
The Red Dawn Series (also referred to as Sunset Red Dawn by Schecter) caters to diverse playing styles with options for baritone, 7-string, and EverTune-equipped models.
All guitars in the series share a focus on high-performance features, including extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, locking tuners, Luminlay side glow-in-the-dark dot markers, and an “Ultra Thin” C-shaped neck (19mm deep at the 1st fret, 20mm at the 12th).
’80s Black & Red Style
Schecter has given each model the same 1980s red and black aesthetic with red pickups, binding, and switch tip and offset reverse red circles as inlays.
The guitars all feature basswood bodies with a ‘Deep Insert Joint with Ultra Access,’ which should help upper fret access. Then, they have three-piece maple necks with ebony fretboards.
Fishman
The standard pickup configuration is a pair of Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers, offering multiple voicing options accessible via a five-way switch and a push/pull volume control.
For players seeking rock-solid tuning stability, EverTune bridge options are available for six-string, six-string 27″ scale baritone, and seven-string models. Traditional TOM-style bridge options are also available for six and seven-string versions.
Other notable features include a Graph Tech XL nut, a sculpted neck heel, and a spoke-wheel truss rod adjustment.
Pricing & Availability
The Schecter Red Dawn Series is manufactured in Indonesia and priced from $1,199 to $1,599, with EverTune-equipped models commanding a higher price.
They should be at Schecter dealers now, and the range will suit players who like that metal/shred style and ’80s aesthetic.
