The Sennheiser HD 550 is a new headphone that, according to the manufacturer, offers the perfect balance between uncompromising quality and intuitive fine-tuning. One of the key components of the Sennheiser HD 550 is a 38 mm transducer. Manufactured in Ireland, this transducer is said to deliver high performance and exceptional clarity in the frequency range from 6 Hz to 39.5 kHz – all with a total harmonic distortion of less than 0.2 percent.
The completely open design of the Sennheiser HD 550 uses a new acoustic fabric that protects the transducers and removes any remaining obstacles between you and the music. The transducers are angled to deliver a spacious stereo sound that puts you in the center. Spatial awareness and instant immersion should be particularly appealing to gamers.
The new headphones promise powerful bass and clear transients with neutral mids without distorting the sound reproduction. With the HD 550, Sennheiser has audiophiles in mind as well.
Lightweight and Comfortable

Cables and ear cushions are interchangeable. A 1.8 m cable with a 3.5 mm plug and a suitable adapter for large jacks are included. A drawstring pouch is also included.
At 150 ohms, the Sennheiser HD 550 is compatible with a wide range of hi-fi equipment. And according to the manufacturer, the new headphones offer a special listening experience when used with premium devices such as the Sennheiser HDV 820.
