Solar Guitars has just announced the upcoming A1.6 Cannibalismo signature model for Brazilian guitar maestro Silas Fernandes. The guitar, which will be released on 30 August 2024, will have an eye-catching hot pink and purple finish!

For over 30 years, Brazilian guitar maestro Silas Fernandes has been a driving force in the music scene. From his early days of shredding with metal band Esfinge alongside Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) to his popular YouTube channel, Silas has inspired countless guitarists worldwide. Now, Fernandes joins forces with Solar Guitars to unleash the A1.6 Cannibalismo, a premium signature axe built for modern metal mastery.
It boasts an alder body, a three-piece maple neck with a thin C profile for effortless playing, and an ebony fretboard.
EMGs for Endless Tonal Options
The A1.6 Cannibalismo is a member of Solar’s top-of-the-line Type-A series, known for its exceptional elegance and performance. This guitar is a true chameleon, equally at home delivering sparkling clean tones, warm bluesy licks, or pulverizing death metal riffs.
Its secret lies in the versatile EMG pickup configuration: an EMG 81 in the bridge for aggressive leads, an EMG SA in the middle for singing cleans, and an EMG 60 in the neck for smooth, bluesy articulation.
“Sometimes I even need a bluesy vibe, and I can get it with that pickup configuration,” says Fernandes.
Built for Speed and Sustain
The A1.6 Cannibalismo is built to handle the most demanding playing styles. A Gotoh 1996T tremolo with a hefty 33mm brass block ensures rock-solid tuning stability for endless flutters, divebombs, and whammy bar antics.
Locking tuners, 24 stainless steel frets, and Luminlay side-dots that glow in the dark round out the premium features, making this a true standout in Solar’s 1-series.
Available now in a stunning Matte Pink and Purple finish, this model will certainly turn heads. When you see it, it screams high-gain and metal.
“This Guitar is for someone who plays metal but needs the flexibility with other tone options,” explains Fernandes.
Preorder
The A1.6 Cannibalismo is available to preorder and will start shipping at the end of August. This is another great high-performance guitar from Ola Englund’s guitar brand and the first to feature this set of active EMG pickups in this configuration.
This is a more premium model than the Killertone Singlecut we looked at earlier in the month, and it is nearly double the price of that guitar. However, it has some great hardware and pickup choices that will increase the price accordingly.
