Silktone Fuzz a Tone Bender Mk1.5 on steroids? No heat issues here
Get your germanium transistors under control with the Active Bias Monitor
With an Active Bias Monitor, the new Silktone Fuzz offers a modern day take on the classic and highly desirable Tone Bender Mk1.5.
Silktone Fuzz
Fitted with a pair of germanium transistors, this new Silktone Fuzz utilises its onboard Active Bias Monitor to bypass any temperature related issues derived from using these old temperamental transistors. You have an adjustable bias with a digital read-out on the enclosure, so you can see exactly what is going on inside with your fuzz.
You want fat sticky fuzz? Dial it past 8.00. Prefer that oh, so sweet sweet sweet spot? Dial it to ~4.50. Want spitty gated fuzz? Cool, me too – dial it to ~1.10.
Classic/Raw
This bias control adjusts the character of the fuzz from spluttery, glitchy and splatty, to full on thickness, so it is a great way to sculpt the fuzz to your liking. Plus, you have the Classic/Raw toggle switch that controls the bias ratio and bass filtering, so you can choose between the two settings quickly, for immediate results. Elsewhere, the Silktone Fuzz has controls for Volume, Fuzz and Clean-up. The latter controls the input gain, and has a similar effect to backing off your guitar’s volume control.
Sold Out?
If you want Tone Bender Mk1.5 tones, the you can get them, but really, this Silktone Fuzz has much more on offer, and could be a great weapon for any lovers of a good dirt box. You can check it out in action in the demo videos below.
As often happens with small boutique runs of pedals, the current batch has already sold out, but expect more to be built. You can already join the email waiting list, which is open for the second batch, and should be ready sometime around the middle of March. Follow the link below to add your name to the waiting list for the second round.

Similar idea to the Benson Fuzz. Might even have looked over the shoulder… ?
