Immediately, you can tell from the look and feel of the interface that the Vocal Tuner and Deesser are designed to fit into the expanding range of Console 1-ready plugins alongside Layers, Echoes, and Dimensions. While Deesser’s interface is very basic, the Vocal Tuner has a wider range of controls for correcting your vocal recordings.

In the main window of Vocal Tuner’s GUI, you have a useful spectrum analyzer and a reading of the notes of the incoming vocal signal. This correlates directly to the piano below, which allows you to specify the key and scale of your pitch correction. Below the pitch meter that shows the exact degree of each note, the main controls include the tuning speed, ranging from Natural to Robotic.
Next, you can adjust the character between subtle and hard, depending on the style you’re going for, and there is a tone enhancer control to add brightness if you need it. On the left panel, you have access to detail-orientated controls such as low-latency mode, which enables you to use the tuning live in the vocal booth.
In addition, you can choose between classic and modern operating modes and set your vocal range to match your vocalist, and adjust the sensitivity. Overall, there is an impressive range of controls to make the most discrete corrections or go full-on T-Pain mode if you prefer. Also, there are additional pitch-shifting controls to adjust the pitch and formant by semitones, and the octaves section allows you to create and control octave doubles, perfect for modern pop music.

Alternatively, the Deesser has a small selection of controls, but this is exactly what you want from a deesser. Visually, you get readings of your frequency spectrum and the waveform meter showing the processing taking place. Also, you have wide and split de-essing modes and a control to set the frequency range.
