Solar Guitars BOP Artist LTD Signature Models: Stealthy swamp ash shred machines?
Black Open Pore 6 and 7 string new releases
Solar Guitars has announced another pair of new models in the form of its BOP Artist LTD Signature Models. The range is available in 6- and 7-string versions. This all black model is available in a new ‘open pore’ finish, which looks as good as you’d hope.
Solar Guitars BOP Artist LTD Signature Models
It currently seems as though Ola Englund’s Solar Guitars is on a mission to release a new model every week. The latest incarnation in its ever-expanding guitar line-up is the new BOP Artist LTD Signature series. The BOP stands for Black Open Pore and though quite subtle it looks amazing in their official demo videos. The grain of the solid swamp ash bodies show through the finish in an alluring way.
Evertune
These guitars come fitted with the EverTune bridge, a set of Grover locking tuners, the super-useful and easy-to-see Luminlay side dots and a set of Duncan Solar pickups. You get 24 super jumbo nickel fret on both models as well as an ebony fretboard, so expect a smooth playing experience from both models. I love the blacked-out look with the swamp ash grain popping through. It makes these look a lot more expensive than they actually are and I can see the appeal here.
I’m very impressed with Solar Guitars’ output this year. I think you can tell that Ola is genuinely trying very hard to make great-looking and very playable instruments for people that need high-performance guitars.
Swamp Ash
With so many finishes to choose from in the Solar Guitars range, making a decision might prove difficult. But I would imagine that these new swamp ash versions of the A1.6 ARTIST LTD and A1.7 ARTIST LTD will prove popular. It’s a good guitar tone wood, and the grain makes it look quite beautiful, especially in the understated blacked-out finish.
If you fancy getting one of these, you can pre-order them now via the Solar Guitars main website. They should be shipping by the end of this week, so not too long to wait.
