Sound Lab Minisynth Plus MIDI Special Edition built by Elettrorama
Italian synth modder Elettrorama is releasing a special edition of the Sound Lab Minisynth Plus MIDI that was originally a DIY kit by Ray Wilson of Music From Outer Space (MFOS). Elettrorama has licensed many of Ray Wilsons synthesizer designs and this is the latest synth to emerge.
Sound Lab Minisynth Plus MIDI
It’s not a snappy title but it’s quite a snappy little analogue monophonic synthesizer. It features 2 oscillators with variable pulse (with PWM), square and sawtooth waveforms and oscillator sync. You have a mixer to control the level of the 2 signal sources plus a knob for noise. There’s a simple single Attack/Release envelope which can be manually triggered, a 12dB 2-pole low pass and band pass filter and a single LFO. Modulation can be directed to the oscillators and filter independently. The “Plus” part of the synth is the addition of a Sample & Hold circuit with glide and a MIDI interface with pitch bend, modulation and portamento.
For connections you get 2 CV inputs and a gate input, a mono audio output and a headphone output. On the MIDI side there’s a MIDI input and a MIDI Thru which is super useful when integrating this box with other MIDI devices.
It’s all rounded off with some nice light wooden cheeks in contrast to the black front panel and knobs.
The Sound Lab Minisynth Plus MIDI is on a special of €240 at the moment, regular price €299. No sound demos or videos as yet.
