Sound Objects: Intriguing synth line from Russia and Modular Moon
Sound Objects has collaborated with Modular Moon to create a Eurorack version of Sound Object #5 to add to their growing range of Sound Object synths.
Sound Object #5
The Sound Object range is created in Rostov On Don in Russia by Sergei Michailov and Dimitri A. They have a number of projects underway including the Loki analogue monosynth, the Gekkon digital monosynth, the #3 analogue bass synth and the #4 analogue drum synth.
Sound Object #5 is the largest of the line up with two oscillators, noise, a filter, mixer, LFO, ASR and S&H for modulation. This new version has added a number of CV inputs and outputs and English labelling along with the MIDI and main audio output.
Anna Martinova from Modular Moon has been working with Sound Objects to bring these Russian synths to a wider audience and to also make them cost-effective enough to be included in the Modular Moon Synthesis School educational syllabus. Sound Object #5 has been adapted to be more Eurorack friendly and Anna suggests it could be comparable to the Moog Mother-32 but at half the price.

The website is live and they’ve started making announcements about the synthesizers but it’s still early days and not all the details are clear yet. They are sending me one for review so we should be able to get a better idea of what they’re capable of.
